Sofar I was able to use two XI52s from Level 2 support department here at Boeblingen lab,
as well as those XI52s in many other locations in Europe, US and Taiwan.
But I really like having my own ;-)
The palletized packet weight was 39kg -- I moved it to the data center on my movable office chair.
Since I did not want to wait for getting new ethernet cables with new IP addresses,
I did temporarily power off my two oldest (9002 !) appliances.
That way I got IP addresses and ethernet cables for mgmt0 and eth10 interfaces of new XI52.
I did not want to waste time in finding a screwdriver and install the rack mounting rails.
Did what we have done in the past so often, just placed the XI52 on another appliance already mounted in my rack.
Since fans are at front and back, that is no problem. Then I plugged the serial cable into XI52 console connector, and connected it with my console server.
Finally I faced the biggest problem following step 8 of "Physically installing" section of "Quick Start Guide" ... ;-)
8. Press the power button.
I have worked with many XI52s before, but never powered one on or off physically.
I did search at the back, where the power cables were connected, no power button.
I looked at the front and did not see a power button.
Finally I did find it, a really small button on the right side of the LEDs, and not much bigger than those.
After powering on many messages got pumped through my serial console session until I finally saw the login prompt.
I had noted the IP address and default gateway information of the two 9002s powered off before.
So running basic install script was just easy (enabled secure backup, no Common criteria mode, ...).
Finally I accepted the license agreement via WebGUI as described in "Quick Start Guide" and could use the box without problems then.
These are the only items not installed in data center -- no 10Gbit lines there and therefore no use of the two fiber optic connectors.
Since I did install the serial console connector cable, no use of USB cable.
