This is the Apollo Guidance Computer. It had 64kb of memory and ran at .043 Mhz. This a lot slower than any smart phone or even feature phone today
These ar the IBM/360 Model 75 computers that were used for communications between NASA and the spacecraft. Imagine what could be done with the computers available only a few years from now! These computers were also used to calculate the lift off data necessary for the lunar lander to return from the moon. This quote was pretty striking:
"At the time, IBM described the 6Mbyte programs it developed, to monitor the spacecrafts' environmental and astronauts' biomedical data, as the most complex software ever written.
