Rajib -- Thank you for this informative post. The scripts and SQL provided are very helpful.

The getInfoForSlowBackup is designed to collect data for online backups in its present form -- db2pd commands require connection to database. It would be interesting to know what data is of interest for debugging performance of offline backups. DB2 v10.1 FP2 and up has Backup Performance Statistics logged in the db2diag.log by default. Could you post a description of how to decipher the data logged in that entry ?

The findDiffinHWMForATbsp script is a neat tool. Posting the output from my test usage. Thank you for sharing these.

$ cat db2pd.tab.out | ~/findDiffinHWMForATbsp.pl
