In a recent comment on a blog entry, Bill St. Arnaud (hope I have the name right), gave links to a project to use WSDL and BPEL for control and management of optical networks. This is based on the Open Grid Services Architecture. Bill rightly points out that most of my examples have been IT related and that there are likely many other applications of SOA and Web services beyond IT. I'll try to dig in that direction and give some pointers and comments, but in the meanwhile, I welcome readers to append examples to this entry via the Comment mechanism. Thanks.
