Finally, after a very long time, The US Says Goodbye to IE6 (according to this Microsoft blog post). While alot of web developers and security expert are wondering why it has taken so long to go, I suspect, based on this article that
it was corporate IT groups, likely very stretched for resources, that
left it out there. For CIOs, updating browsers means alot more than
rolling out new software for the desktop. It can also mean upgrading
backend systems to support the new browser, and that can get expensive.
