Meet you at the IBM Pulse 2014?
I'm going to be in Las Vegas from Feb 22 until Feb 27 to visit the IBM Pulse conference. This is a pretty good time to meet and talk about BVQ business opportunities. Or do some technical deep dives into the inner world of SVC or Storwize performance characteristics. Who ever is interested on meeting - just send me a note. Michael.Pirker@sva.de Until then Michael

Whitepaper: Reduction of storage costs made easy
A ctually, this is a very simple question: "why buy expensive storage, if it is possible to achieve the same with a much cheaper storage?" This sounds very reasonable, but often it is just difficult to implement. Let´s have a closer look on a typical top level target system for storage planning: This whitepaper shows how analysis can help to reduce costs very quickly This Whitepaper Two customer examples from big to small The heatmap is the key to success What are the financial implications of such analyses?... BVQ Version 3.0 can now also scan on 1 minute intervals
This is new for the upcoming Version 3 from BVQ (Nov 13) BVQ can now scan on 1 minutes interval. It is incredible who much detail becomes uncovered when you scan on 1 minute. Why does this matter? A smaller scan interval will allow even deeper looks into the system. The possibility to change these settings on the fly without any interrupt supports normal ands deep analysis mode. To switch from 5 minutes to 1 minute is easy and does not need any special activity! You just change the timing of the statistics collection on the SVC or Storwize.... [More]

Several V7000 with performance problems fixed this month :)
We had a very interesting month. We have fixed performance problems on 3 different V7000 Systems in Europe - all of them are running much better now. The problems have been found in very different places: SAN, Cache Overload, Compression, ... In no case we had to extend a system - all was solved with changes in setup only. Do not hesitate to call us when you have performance problems with a Storwize or with a SVC. We will use BVQ to locate the reason for it. No risk for you, no purchase obligation.
