Don't forget about possibly the most useful one character command - the ksh built-in alias 'r' for recalling the last command, or last command starting with a specific string, with optional replace e.g.:

r bin=lib ls
I honestly did remember that one, but I tried to forget it. The last time I used it I ran
r r
thinking that my previous command starting with r was seomthing like rsh. Alas, it was another famous command starting with r and ending with m.
