Many of us have a social media presence -- a virtual personality made up of status updates, tweets and connections, stored in the cloud. Adam Ostrow asks a big question: What happens to that personality after you've died? Could it ... live on?
As editor in chief at Mashable, Adam Ostrow covers the tech, trends and people driving the evolution of the Web.
...the fact of the matter is...all of us today are creating an archive that's...different than anything that's been created by any previous generation.
Right now there are 48 hours of video...uploaded to YouTube every...minute...200 million Tweets being posted every day...the average Facebook user is creating 90 pieces of content each month...But today we're all creating...rich digital archive that's going to live in the cloud indefinitely, years after we're gone...I think that's going to create some incredibly intriguing opportunities for technologists.
...Deb Roy...was able to analyze more than 90,000 hours of home video...as machines' ability to understand human language and process vast amounts of data continues to improve, it's...possible to analyze an entire life's worth of content...that we're producing...And...it's going to become possible for our digital personas to continue to interact in the real world long after we're gone...

In a funny, rapid-fire 4 minutes, Alexis Ohanian of Reddit tells the real-life fable of one humpback whale's rise to Web stardom. The lesson of Mister Splashy Pants is a shoo-in classic for meme-makers and marketers in the Facebook age.
Alexis Ohanian co-founded Reddit, a social-voting news website with geek allegiances, a small-town feel and a penchant for lighting up the memes your friends IM you about next week.
But this isn't about Reddit. This is...about discovering new things that pop up on the web...in the last four years we've seen all kinds of memes...trends get born right on our front page.
...it went from about five percent...when this meme started, to 70 percent at the end of voting....We won! Mister Splashy Pants was chosen.
...Redditors...were happy to participate, but they weren't whale lovers. A few...certainly were. But we're talking about...people who were...interested and...caught up in this great meme...someone from Greenpeace came back on the site and thanked Reddit for its participation. But this wasn't really out of altruism. This was just out of interest in doing something cool.
If you want to succeed you’ve got to be okay to just lose control.
It the most recent studies, Amazon's Appstore for Android is far more profitable than Google Play. Apple's Appstore still dominates over both Amazon and Google Play. To create this benchmark we have given Apple an 100% rating and compared Amazon and Google Play accordingly. AppleInsider reported that Amazon generates 89% of revenue while Google Play only brings forth 23%.
To translate that breakdown, for every dollar that Apple generates, Amazon brings in .88 cents while Google Play only brings in .23 cents.
Personally I believe that Amazon dominates over Google Play due to the actual Amazon.com store front. Logically speaking, many users already have used Amazon.com to purchase other goods and services. With previous purchases made on Amazon, Amazon.com has credit card information and billing information. To add to that, many clients are familiar with Amazon.com as a trusted, secured, and easy to use website.
Amazon.com is heavily known as one of the best places to shop online. They have a huge spectrum of different products and services. However, a service that has not really received the spotlight is the Amazon Cloud Drive.
If you did not already know, everyone
with an Amazon account gets 5GB of free storage space. With this particular storage space, users can upload documents, music, pictures and videos. The nice thing about this particular style of storage is that you can access it anywhere with unlimited access. This means that wherever you are, you still have your files as long as you have internet access. In addition this may be an alternate method of backing up your vital files that you can't risk losing.
In extension to my previous blog, I forgot to mention that Amazon also includes a spectacular cloud player. The cloud player uses the same 5GB storage space as the cloud drive. The nice thing about this player is that you can play your music virtually anywhere that you have internet access. Connected to the Amazon Cloud Player, Amazon has also integrated in the Amazon MP3 Store.
Amazon has really made a nice system where they make it easy for their clients to purchase and listen to music no matter where they are. Imagine hearing a song on the radio, going onto your phone, purchasing the song via the Amazon MP3 Store, then playing the song through your Amazon Cloud Player. In essence it is just like a one stop shop for your personal music needs.
Have you heard of Amazon Web Service? Well, maybe you have, maybe you haven't. Here is my opportunity to shed some light on what Amazon Web Services is all about.
Amazon Web Services is a service that approaches almost every aspect of cloud computing. They offer services such as computing, database, storage, networking, application hosting, web applications, high performance computing, backup, storage, and many more. From my knowledge you are also able to use their services for gaming servers.
Now the true beauty of about Amazon Web Services is that it is fast cheap and extremely robust with tools and applications to get you started quick and efficiently. If you are an individual or business who is dying to get into the cloud world I would seriously recommend checking out Amazon Web Services.
Amazon.com has been one of the primary websites that many consumers rely on for many years for online shopping. One of the main attractions to Amazon.com is the discounted prices offered on many items. Everyone is looking for savings wherever they can find it and Amazon is the perfect place, especially since Amazon.com does not charge taxes on its items, which is another big selling point. Because many people use this website, many rely on others reviews on items they are planning on buying to help make their final purchasing decisions. Since consumers can not physically see the item before buying it, making the reviews from other people more valuable.
