The Netezza event manager monitors the health, status, and activity of the Netezza system operation and can take action when a specific event occurs. Event monitoring is a proactive way to manage the system without continuous human observation. You can configure theevent manager to continually watch for specific conditions such as machine state changes, hardware restarts, faults, or failures. In addition, the event manager can watch for conditionssuch as reaching a certain percentage of full disk space, queries that have beenrunning for longer than expected, and other Netezza system behaviors.
