A sprite image is a collection of images put into a single image. A web page with many images can take a long time to load and generates multiple server requests. Using sprite image will reduce the number of server requests and save bandwidth. Web Portals can combine many single images in to one sprite image. The sprite image will be designed by using empty spaces between images. In fact the sprite will work in pixel based design. The single images will be displayed based on the pixel.
