If you know which in-memory aggregates you need to create, want to create a quick proof of concept dynamic cube, or perhaps want to place all a smaller cube's data into memory, then this feature allows you to do all of that!
You can now define in-memory aggregates in Cube Designer and then publish them to the content store using the Aggregate Advisor. User-defined in-memory aggregates, unlike the existing in-memory aggregates, have no restrictions on the size of the dimensional space they represent.
