Dear Friends of System Automation,
As you might already know, we plan to have another European Operations Technical Conference (EOTC) in 2016. The conference is planned from Monday, April 25 through Wednesday, April 27, 2016 in the IBM Lab in Boeblingen, Germany. Conference language will be English.
This conference addresses the needs of System, Network and Automation Administrators. Sessions are presented by representatives from IBM software development teams and YOU, the product exploiters. Interaction and feedback is both expected and encouraged.
Topics cover a range of IBM Systems Management products, mainly IBM System Automation Family, the IBM Service Management Suite for z/OS and IBM NetView for z/OS. Other topics might be GDPS, OMEGAMON, z/OS Automation Infrastructure, TWS and the IBM Systems Management strategy.
Additionally we plan to provide workshops running in parallel to the presentations. Discussions can include product futures and requirements.
We have plans for an additional EOTC day on Thursday, April 28 to address special NetView z/OS topics and topics in the distributed System Automation area (SA MP & SA AppMan) in a more detailed way as last years. If you would be interested in this extra day we need to know this before end of the year. The more interest you have the better is the chance for this extra EOTC day.
For interest in the NetView z/OS part, please send me a mail (firstname.lastname@example.org) and tell me the topics you'd like to be addressed.
For interest in the distributed System Automation part, please send a mail to the chairman of the Automation & Business Resiliency for Open Systems working group, Manfred Farwick (email@example.com) and tell him the topics you'd like to be addressed.
Customer presentations are not only very welcome and appreciated but extremely necessary as a contribution to the success of this conference. I'd like to encourage you to pass on any suggestions.
At the moment we plan to have a conference fee € 350,00 for the entire conference. The fee will be charged to all attendees (except speakers!).
Non-GSE members have to pay an additional € 100,00 but if they decide to become a member in 2016 then this amount will be credited.
Prices are not yet completely fixed and may vary slightly in the future.
Travel, lodging and other expenses must be covered by the attendees (including speakers).
Please do extend this announcement to others within IBM and to customers and colleagues whom you deem appropriate.
As the EOTC 2015 really was a successful event I am sure that you will support me in the same great way you always did before. With the decision to make this early announcement I want to give you the chance to ask early for your travel approvals. Additionally I am sure that you have plenty of time to collect your interesting project work into a presentation for the EOTC 2016.
If you plan to do a presentation, please send me your session titles, together with a small abstract and the planned duration as soon as possible. The agenda should be ready by end of January before the registration process will start. Keep in mind that if the agenda is filled the chance to get entrance to the conference without conference fee is gone!
Please send the internet mailing address and the company name of anyone who is interested and has not received this announcement to
We will use this information to send the official invitations and registration information. Registrations for "unknown" customers will be rejected.
