My name is Ashwanth Kumar, and I'm from SASTRA University, SRC, Kumbakonam. I would like to share my experience of TGMC 2K9, and also what it has made me do now! It all started on the college re-opening day, when I saw TGMC 2009, Poster @ our college notice board. I went to my senior, to ask him the details regarding it, as he had participated in TGMC 2K8 (went till face-to-face round). He brief'd me about the same, and all the advantages it has over the students who're doing it. He also told me, that we need to use (only) IBM products, and platform is JAVA.
Since, I already had 4 years experience in Web-Development, it was all fun to teach my friends in the college every week, in our campus 'TGMC Class'. We learned, explored, created, innovated, and achieved together.
It took me 6 long months, to learn the basics of Enterprize Java standards (Hibernate, Tapestry, etc.). All the work, didn't go in vain. We were selected in TOP 20(team name: The Reformists).
TGMC 2009, revoluntionized the way I think about software development. Using the experience from above, well I've done our campus Automation App. using IBM Tools (DB2 Express & WASCE), for my "Research Engine", I'm planning to use IBM InfoSphere (Hadoop Clusters) - depending on TGMC admins accepting and giving us access to the software, and many more. This year, I've started a TGMC forum in our campus. In 1 week of its inauguration, 150 students came forward with willingness to seek the victory Trophy of TGMC 2010 in the path to Learn, Collaborate, and Innovate.
