Impact Integration with Netezza

How to enable Netcool Impact to connect to a Netezza database.

 

1. Acquire the Netezza driver jar.

The drivers are available via FixCentral -> http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21613510

 

2. Install the Netezza driver jar into your Impact installation.

 Add the Netezza driver jar to the following directory on your Impact installation: $IMPACT_HOME/dsalib

Restart Impact

 

3. Create a data source in Impact of type -> Generic SQL

sample settings:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The URL field should take the following format:

 jdbc:netezza://X.XX.XXX.XX:5480/(nameofdatabase)

A sample URL:

jdbc:netezza://10.64.16.66:5480/WAREHOUSE

 

4. Create a date type.

Right click on the new data source and select, New Data Type.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Insert  the name of one of the Netezza database tables into the Base Table field.

Click on Refresh.

This will import the table fields.

Click on save to save the data type.

 

5. View data items.

Right click on new data type and select View Data Items

Table rows will then be displayed.
