So, Profitero have officially been named the IBM Global Entrepreneur of the Year. Their pricing intelligence solution (which helps eCommerce websites compare prices with competitors), coupled with a slick presentation building in recommendations they received from the mentoring sessions, helped them standout from a tough crowd.

As you may have noticed, we took a different approach to coverage on this blog. Three students from San Jose State University won a business writing competition, giving them the opportunity to cover the event on this blog.
Stephanie Rhodes, Renata Garaykhanov and Diane Pham all went far beyond expectations, exuding a professionalism and maturity that was a huge credit to both themselves and SJSU, and makes one feel strong about the potential for the next generation of entrepreneurs! It is not an easy task to absorb information in a loud distracting conference environment and then translate it into meaningful prose.
They covered everything: from photo-journalism through to the appearance of CA Lieutenant Governor Gavin Newsom and in-depth posts on participants. The posts have deservedly received over 5,000 visits to date.
Reaching further afield, we had GigaOm talk about the focus on analytics this year, the Irish Times feature their local boys Profitero and a run-down of each of the competitors by Inside Startups.
