When I first interacted with the ICS community at Lotusphere (I think it was back in 2012), I immediately knew that there was something special about this community. I immediately knew that I wanted to be a bigger part of it. That I wanted to surround myself with these amazing people. And my last two roles as IBM Champion Program Manager, and as the ICS Community Manager enabled me to do that in a big way!
While it was my job to support the community, I made some amazing connections, and some deep and meaningful friendships that I know will last a lifetime. This community embraced me (literally). You've educated me, supported me, challenged me, encouraged me. I've seen you support friends and colleagues in the community in times of sadness or need, sponsored people doing crazy things for a good cause, encouraged and lifted up those undergoing major life events. Because of all of this, my decision to leave IBM was a very difficult one. I hold my time at IBM and the people I've worked with in the highest regard, and will be forever be a cheerleader for all of you in the community.
My move to another company wasn't planned, but when you realize that there's an opportunity in life that's made for you, you take it. I'm terrified, inspired, excited all at the same time. It's scary, but I've always believed that growth happens when you're scared, and that we regret the things we don't do most of all. So with that, I go boldly!
Thank you to the ICS community for treating me so well, and to IBM for 17 great years!
