WebSphere eXtreme Scale for Liberty Profile is a free version of WebSphere eXtreme Scale that allows developers to test applications and data grids on the WebSphere Application Server Liberty Profile. It is ideal for projects that do not warrant the expense of a priced and supported runtime. WebSphere eXtreme Scale V8.5 for Liberty Profile requires the WebSphere Application Server V8.5 Liberty Profile be installed.

Running the GettingStarted sample client
- In a command line, navigate to your liberty_installation/bin directory.
To create a server, run the command server.bat create serverName.
server.bat create gettingstarted
- Drop in your GettingStartedWebClient.ear into your liberty_installation/usr/serverName/dropins directory.
You must add the eXtreme Scale web feature, servlets, and jsps to the liberty server's server.xml.
in the server.xml:

To start the server, run the command server.bat start serverName.
server.bat start gettingstarted
Open a web browser and enter the URL: http://hostname:port/GettingStartedWebClient/ClientServlet
Follow the UI to connect and insert/update/delete/get strings from the grid.
