Gamification is becoming a well-known technique for making your website popular -- Gamification boosts Consumer Engagement.
Simply speaking, you want visitors of your website to come back often, then you put on some game-like mechanism, such as points, leader-boards, and badges.
People will come back to see how well they are doing comparing to others, and even contribute more to your website in order to get an "expert" title.
So what do people do in our Gamification Designer (GD) console? They create game plans, to be used on their websites. Can we gamify GD as well?
Let's try the simplest mechanism first: points and levels.
We want to reward users for creating plans, and after they created a lot of plans, give them titles.
So we wanna create a variable called "experience" for experience points (type XP) for accumulating the points.
Oh! It's already there! One of the basic variables created by default after you created a plan, as shown below.
Let's click on "update" option to see the details, as show here. (we will check "levels" option later)
So what are these parameters?
Leveling Base Points == how many points to level up.
Leveling Factor == the rate of it getting harder and harder to level up.
Therefore, the points required to level up will gradually increase as 3*(1.5)^(level-1).
If you are level 2 right now, you need 3*1.5^1 = 4.5 points to level up. You can change it to your preferences.
Finally, we set titles for them:
Apprentice Designer, Apprentice Designer, Apprentice Designer, Expert Designer, Expert Designer, Expert Designer, Master Designer
It means that the user/player is Apprentice Designer at level1, and will become Expert Designer at level 4, finally become Master Designer at level 7.
So how many plans must be created for a player to reach "Master Designer"?
We have to define how we reward points firstly.
Let's create an event after navigated to event tab.
Okay. "inc_xp" event defined.
So if we fire this event every time the player created a plan, then the points to reach Master Designer is exactly the plans need to reach the title.
Let's go back to "Variable Tab", and check the "Levels" option.
It's 63 points == 63 plans. Difficult but achievable.
Then we are done on leveling and titles. Isnt it easy?
