Here are the requirements for the console integration between DASH and PI to work: 1) You must use the fully qualified domain name (FQDN) in the DASH login URL 2) The user must be a member of the following two groups in the... How to load balance and provide high availability with JazzSM Dashboard Connections
This paper is a step-by-step solution guide to enable load balancing and high availability connections for the Jazz for Service Management (JazzSM) Dashboard component to the Netcool/Impact data provider cluster. Netcool/Impact 6.1.1 and higher provide out of the box solution capabilities by exposing Netcool/Impact data types and policy variables (user output parameters) through its user interface (UI) data provider to visualize its data through dashboard widgets. Quite often we get asked from the field on different ways to easily launch external URLs from DASH. In this blog we will discuss about some of the options and look at one particular implementation in detail. In this particular scenario, a dashboard administrator/page designer wants to launch an external URL (outside DASH, pointing to another IBM or non-IBM product) in response to the user clicking on a row in the list, table or a gauge widget. We will get the context from the widget and pass on to the external URL as query parameters. ... [More]

Dashboards for Wallboards: Cycler

Management and operational users are in dire need of understanding the health and current state of their environment. Since out-of-the-box dashboards never fully provide everything an organization requires, implementing customization is a priority. Users need to be able to create their dashboards on the fly for pertinent information. To have the capability to pull in data from various sources and then to be able... [More]

Now you can see Registry Services by the DASHboard Light
There is beauty in visualization, there is paradise in beautiful integration, then there is a Meat Loaf-esque attempt at tying this entry’s title to the intro. For the past two years we have been focusing on consolidating and correlating data from different data providers, and during that time we also put out a rather polished Registry Services Sample UI console that allowed people to browse data stored in Registry Services. All the while we kept throwing a long look across the hallway - actually they sit on the floor above, their not so... [More]
