If you've used Tivoli Common Reporting (TCR) in the past, you would have either got it from:

  1. TCR media download, via Passport Advantage
  2. Embedded in a product, such as TBSM or ITNM
Going forward, TCR will be a component of Jazz for Service Management.  When you download the JazzSM middleware install media, one option in it is to install TCR,  ensuring a common set of middleware components across products.
 

TCR v.next in Jazz for Service Management will continue to ship the same Cognos-based business intelligence tooling you've used in TCR 2.x, along with a bunch of new features to geared toward getting more value from your existing IT data while leveraging your existing TCR 2.x investment. Features include:

  • Interactive Reports - Build Active Reports where users explore their data while offline. No coding needed
  • Mobile support - Both through the web UI and iPad native application
  • Workspaces - Drag and drop charts from different reports onto a common canvas
  • Event Studio - Automate the report execution and distribution based on data queries
  • Add chart selection and updated look and feel
  • Bridge the gap between business users and report authors with more powerful ad-hoc reporting

 

You can try out these reporting features with your existing TCR 2.x Cognos-based reports by installing TCR v.next with the Jazz for Service Management beta download.
