It is important for the business users of WebSphere Commerce to leverage on the search statistics to tune their search towards enabling customers to find the right products. The IBM Management Center for WebSphere Commerce, is a suite of tools to support store management, merchandising, and marketing tasks for business users (Sellers, Marketing Managers, Product Managers, Catalog Managers, and others).
Following are the basic steps to enabling statistics
1 – Enable true in wc-search.xml
<_config:param name="statistics" value="true"/>
2 – Enable and set property in wc-component.xml
SearchProfilesStatistics - Requests the search server to capture search-related statistics in the WebSphere Commerce runtime. When this option is enabled, statistical data is cached in memory until the batch size (defined as SearchStatisticsBatchInsertSize in the wc-component.xml file) has been reached.
SearchStatisticsBatchInsertSize - The batch processing size for capturing search statistics, in number of cached entries. The default value is 10000.
SearchStatisticsUpdateInterval - The time interval between batch processing updates, in seconds. The default value is 600.
SearchStatisticsResultPagesTrackingThreshold - Track search rule statistics up to the specified search result page. The default value is 1.
The following search and marketing statistics tables are configured by default. These tables contain data that represents statistics data from the Marketing component and WebSphere Commerce search.
SRCHSTAT - This table is used for capturing search related statistics at runtime.
DMELESTATS - Statistics of trigger, target and action campaign elements within an activity.
DMEMSPOTSTATS - Statistics for an e-MarketingSpot within a marketing activity.
DMEXPSTATS - This table stores the statistics related to marketing experiments.
