1. How long have you been working with MDM?
9 Years

2. What did you do before that?
Before starting my career at IBM, I worked at SAP Lab as an intern. Prior to that, I did my post-graduate degree in computer applications at National Institute of Technology, Surathkal, one of the well renowned institutes in India.

3. What inspires you in your work?
Challenges. I actively look for them. They turn me on like nothing else.

4. What are you passionate about?
I am passionate about all things related to Master Data Management. I strive towards creating trusted source of master information for customers I work for.

5. If you were stuck on a technology deprived island, what single technology could you not live without?
My smart phone (This thing is going with me to my grave. Ha! :) ) and my laptop. & I hope to God they got WiFi there.

6. What book are you currently reading?
I am currently reading “Too Big to Ignore” by Phil Simon

7. What has been your biggest surprise you have witnessed in the technology industry?
Rise of social media, mobile devices and Big Data related technologies.

8. What future technology would make your life easier?
It has to be the technologies to harness Big Data.

9. How do you prefer to find answers to your questions?
I prefer searching discussion forums and asset repositories.

10. How are you using social networking today?
Twitter: Heavily
Facebook, FourSquare, LinkedIn, Google+: Moderately
Pinterest, Path: Lightly

11. How could you see yourself using it in 5 years?
Twitter off course will be my main focus because of its simplicity and reach. I believe LinkedIn will be the future resume and I definitely will continue to use it and enhance my profile. I definitely see myself using facebook lesser day by day simply because of its ‘professional irrelevance’.

12. What are some of your favorite websites/feeds/twitter accounts to follow?
I follow @GigaOm, @NyTimes, @IBM_InfoSphere, @ibm_iod

13. Where can we find you on Twitter, LInkedin, Facebook, and other social spaces?

I am attending IBM Information on Demand 2013 conference in Las Vegas NV. I would love to catch up with some of you there. Direct message me @MDMGeek if you want to meet me

Thanks for introducing yourself Prash! I guess it's only fair I actually answer a few of the questions myself as well, so in no particular order...

Q: Are you planning to attend any events where you are likely to meet other MDM developers?

A: Unfortunately I won't be at IOD this year, but I'll be doing my best to follow along online. (There will be a few people from Hursley at IOD though, so I'll be sure to send some stickers along with them!)

Q: How long have you been working with MDM?

A: I joined the MDM department in Hursley around 2006, so longer than I realised!

Q: What did you do before that?

A: I've worked on a few products developed in Hursley since joining IBM 16 years ago. Luckily someone else has done an excellent job explaining why I've been at IBM for so long, although there were slightly less glamorous projects and a lot less travel compared to Dale! http://eightbar.co.uk/2013/08/06/why-am-i-still-at-ibm/

Q: What are you passionate about?

A: I'm passionate about technology that improves people's lives. For example this recent Extreme Blue project, http://smartertrends.co.uk/articles/2013-9-27/ibm-extreme-blue-2013-voice-bank-project-captures-/

That's all for now, but I'll answer a few more questions if we get more introductions :)

Hi Roly, thanks for joining in the quiz, and welcome to the MDM Developers community! I noticed you and Prash both managed to sneak MDM in to your answers :)
Since I said I'd keep going if we got more introductions, I'll take the chance on looking stupid to answer this one...
Q. Any new technologies that you think are about to break into the big time?
A. 3D printers. Ok, so they've actually been around for a while but I really hope they are about to get way more adoption. Being able to print off even simple parts is just fantastic for prototyping and one off life hacks. I haven't got one yet, but there is definitely one on my unjustified tech wish list!
