Any implementation of ODM needs to consider the implementation of Decision Governance to ensure controlled changes and deployments. Here are 5 things to know about the Decision Governance implementation:
The implementation of Decision Governance takes time. It requires many discussions about the requirements of the organization and how Decision Governance will meet those needs. You may start discussing the topic at the beginning of your implementation or as you are wrapping up your first implementation but the key is to start talking about it early so that it can become a way of working for all your projects.
Implementing Decision Governance will likely require new roles and responsibilities. As the initial discussions take place, roles and responsibilities should be a big topic of conversation. Roles and responsibilities will allow you to consider gaps in the skills of your current resources, required training to fill those gaps and also to identify who will actually fill those roles and responsibilities.
Implementing Decision Governance will also likely require some organizational changes. Organizational changes need to be planned properly to be as successful as possible. If you know it will be likely, reach out to your Human Resources department to get some expert help on how to proceed.
