System Automation for z/OS 3.4 – How to Setup Command Receiver for use by TSO Jobs and Customization Dialog
System Automation 3.4 provides a command receiver infrastructure that enables REXX/TSO programs to pass NetView, SA z/OS or MVS commands to SA z/OS for execution and to receive the response. The command receiver is able to dispatch incoming commands to a dedicated group of working tasks. This allows many TSO batch jobs and/or TSO users to issue SA commands at the same time. The small enhancement APAR OA44246 improves this dispatching algorithm so that now idle tasks are preferred. If you want to read more about this topic then... [More]

TUC White Paper: "Exploit New Analytics to Monitor and Manage Technologies"
In recent times, Operations Teams have been getting overwhelmed by the volumes of data that they have to manually process, whether that is log data, file data, transaction log data, metrics coming into the system and so on. They have always had large volumes of data coming into their systems, but these ‘Big Data’ volumes have seen very rapid growth. All of this data, which needs to be stored on the backend / mainframe system, is that which forms the system of records where critical business transactions reside. This means that very... [More]

How I can see the matching criteria type and time intervals in CP by TWSz 9.2
In TWSz 9.1 several matching criteria have been added for defining in the Application Description how a dependency between predecessor and successor operations is resolved. The criterion chosen to pick a matching predecessor that best resolves the dependency can be that the matching predecessor is the one with: The nearest preceding input arrival time. This option was already available in previous versions. The nearest input arrival time within the same day of the successor. The closest input arrival time within a specified interval. The... [More]
