We have a Interim solution to support the Bundling Suites of IBM Products. For TADz 8.1, please apply PTF UA75856 for APAR OA46615. Please review the HOLDACT comments in the PTF to perfform post-apply changes needed to effect this fix.
When sites alter the time of some of their systems this caused a problem when scanning these systems as the time taken might be years in advance and this causes problems when importing this data. Changes were made to Inquisitor and Usage Monitor to always use the PR/SM time rather than the system time as PR/SM time will always be the current date and time. This is available via APAR OA46093 for TADz 8.1. Please order PTF UA75220.
A performance improvement was recently made available to speed up processing for CARLa queries using z/OS UNIX file data. If you are using zSecure 2.1.0 or 2.1.1 it is recommended you look at the service provided through APAR OA46606 . If you work with systems with lots of catalogs and data sets, you might also experience benefits from changes made in that area. For zSecure 2.1.0 install the fix for APAR OA46616 . For zSecure 2.1.1 this change was largely incorporated into the base release. You can apply the fix for APAR OA46244... [More]
What screen size should you use? If your screen size is too small, there may be a lot of meaningful information off to the right or bottom of your screen. Personally, I find 62x160 is a good size for all enhanced 3270UI uses. If your monitor is too small to comfortably accommodate that size (and getting more difficult with every birthday!), then 43x80 is good for *most* enhanced 3270UI uses. If there are workspaces with many subpanels or many thousands of rows of data (such as historical summary displays), 62x160 might be better for... [More]

System Automation for z/OS has just released APAR OA45008 for releases V3.5 and V3.4 and hence delivered RFE 31913. This APAR introduces export and import capabilities for your LPARS AND SYSTEMS policy which is part of a processor entry in the System Automation for z/OS policy database. With this support, customers can now completely define new processors, the LPARs and the systems that run on these LPARs using a text file instead of using the Customization Dialog panels. Customers can also extract all this data into a text... [More]

Starting from IBM Workload Scheduler for z/OS 9.1 the new object run cycle group can be defined to have more flexible run cylces and reduce the need of manually generated periods. It consists of a sets of several run cycles defined as database objects independent from applications. So a run cycle group can be used by more than one application and that an application can use a mix of its own run cycles and of one or more run cycle groups. It can be referenced in the application description with the possibility to specify the offset (positive and... [More]
What's new: The OMEGAMON Enhanced 3270 UI allows the definition of a Secondary HUB TEMS. If you wish to periodically monitor a HUB TEMS, in another data center for example, then defining a secondary HUB TEMS is one solution. Once a secondary HUB TEMS is defined switching between the primary and secondary HUB TEMS is easy using the switch command. The secondary HUB TEMS will also become the active HUB TEMS, if for example, the primary HUB... [More]
