IBM recently announced the open beta of CICS Transaction Gateway on z/OS V9.1. There are a number of significant new features provided, most notably JSON web service support allowing mobile clients to connect directly into a Gateway daemon and route requests securely through to CICS with minimal fuss.
You can read more about the new features here and watch a brief video below of the mobile enhancement.
If you're an existing OMEGAMON XE for CICS or ITCAM for Transactions user you can get started with monitoring CICS TG on z/OS V9.1 beta straight away. There are no additional PTFs required at this stage to provide toleration support of this new release level. Just hook the new release into your monitored test environment and go.
We would of course, be interested in knowing which of the new enhancements are the most important to you and how you would like them monitored. Let us know by providing feedback to the beta and raising a “request for enhancement” (RFE) against either OMEGAMON or ITCAM. An RFE is the most efficient means of requesting new features within any IBM product and any request will be reviewed promptly by the development team for potential future inclusion.
