Starting from Tivoli Workload Scheduler for z/OS 8.6.0, APAR level PM63135, using the Tivoli Workload Scheduler for z/OS agent and the Output Collector component, you can automate and control the entire job archiving process, with the z/OS agent running the distributed workload and the output collector feature archiving the job log.
The Output Collector Started Task is responsible for:
- automatically collecting the distributed joblog and storing them to the JES spool as a SYSOUT
- attaching an header at the top of the job log with information that classifies the output
If you activate this feature, Output Collector automatically collects the logs of all jobs run in the z-centric environment, regardless of whether they complete successfully or terminate in error, converts them in the local EBCDIC codepage and format the output to 133-columns lines, copies them to a SYSOUT in JES to make them available to an output management product.
The processing is completely automatic.
The Output Collector feature can be configured to work in a sysplex environment.
