We are proud to announce that, since December 13nd, the new "Remote HotStandBy Controller" feature is available on IBM Tivoli Workload Scheduler for z/OS v9.2 with the following set of PTF:

The remote hot stand-by controller has been designed to guarantee the continuos availability for IBM Tivoli Workload Scheduler for z/OS customers, across remote sites.
Your hot stand-by controller can now be remote:
it only needs a TCP/IP connection to communicate with active controller on primary site (traditional stand-by controller needs to be on same Syplex, to share dasds where plans are located and XCF communication).
IBM Tivoli Workload Scheduler for z/OS automates all the mechanism to synchronize remote plans and objects with the primary controller, so that the remote host stand-by can quickly take over the primary controller functionality in case of a planned or unplanned outage of the primary site.
The remote host stand-by is easy to configure, monitor and activate.
Re-connection with remote engine and agents (z/OS, z-centric, dynamic domain managers) are automatically done after a site switch.
Step awareness feature is provided too: once activated, it is now possible to list the executed steps of a job from ISPF panels.
It can be activated on remote hot stand-by controller only or on both controllers.
