Here are some interesting enhancements to SA z/OS, shipped earlier this year:
Allow dedicated log streams for each subplex in the physical sysplex.
This requirement came up on several occasions in the past.
When looking at INGHIST data, only history information about work items
processed on this subplex (SA plex) are visible. The data is no longer shared
for the complete physical sysplex.
This not only increases readability but is important for multi tenancy
Joblog Monitoring has been enhanced to handle messageIDs greater than
The SA Recovery Processing for SMFDUMP has been enhanced.
Just like ISSUEACT or ACTIVMSG/TERMMSG, AOFRSA0C will now
provide the triggering message in AOFMSAFE.
This APAR will be important when running with the new z/OS V2R1 release.
Due to changes in z/OS 2.1. the INGSTR and INGCF command will fail
unless this APAR is applied.
Several customers asked for this (RFE 13760 - Allow for installation option to
suppress logging in AOCUPDT when Status Changes occur). Mainly GDPS customers
will benefit of this (due to the sheer quantity of potential GEOxxx status updates),
but also customers who want to in control of the status updates, logged in the netlog.
This APAR introduced AAO AOF_AAO_AOCUPDT_LOGGING. The AAO allows to override the LOG
parameter of the AOCUPDT command. Refer to the DOC changes that come with the APAR
for more information.
If you are using SA z/OS to manage SAP then you will be interested in the
improved add-on policies *SAP and *SAPSRV that come with this APAR.
