My team is responsible for the installation and maintenance of all System z software for a large healthcare organization. We presently employ more than 10,000 workers and had revenue of $8 billion last year.
Our enterprise consists of a 6 way Parallel Sysplex which heavily utilizes a V11 IMSPlex with Shared Queues and processes approximately 2 million Fast Path and Full Function transactions per day. Several IBM® Tivoli® OMEGAMON® products are used to monitor this environment, however, the success of our business applications is heavily reliant upon IBM Tivoli OMEGAMON XE for IMS on z/OS v4.2.0.

OMEGAMON XE for IMS on z/OS v5.1.0 is the latest version of the OMEGAMON XE for IMS family, and is an integrated part of the OMEGAMON solution. The OMEGAMONs are a family of related monitors, and offer solutions for monitoring DB2, Sysplex, CICS, Storage, and Mainframe Networks (among many others).
The new release provides features that extend the capabilities of the existing releases. These new features include the implementation of a new 3270 user interface, adoption of the ITM Self-Describing Agent (SDA) technology, IMS command support, Application Trace Facility (ATF) ECSA Virtual Storage Constraint Relief, and removal of the Transaction Reporting Facilitry (TRF) Near Term History (NTH) feature.

Several performance enhancements have been incorporated into OMEGAMON XE for IMS on z/OS v5.1.0 which makes this release even better than the previous v4.2.0.
