This affects any address spaces that execute PGM=KLV, namely:
z/OS ITM TEMS, z/OS OMEGAMON TEMAs, and z/OS OMEGAMON CUAs
Previously a TIME RESET command would need to be issued to each address space after the z/OS system local clock was changed.
With APAR OA46343, the code will check every quarter of an hour for a change of more than two minutes, forward or backward, in the z/OS system local clock; if a change is detected, the ITM Engine clock is resynchronised with the z/OS system local time.
Using the March 2015 US DST change as the example:
Presuming the address space started just after midnight local time on Sunday 8th March, the following message would be displayed at the end of initialisation:
2015.067 00:01:00.67 KLVDS001 DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME MONITOR STARTED
The code would check at 30 seconds after the next quarter of an hour, i.e. 00:15:30, then at each 15 minute interval, i.e. 00:30:30, and so on.
No changes would be detected until the check at 02:00:30 when the clock will have gone forward from 02:00:00 to 03:00:00, at which point the TIME RESET command would automatically be issued and the following message would be displayed:
