A performance improvement was recently made available to speed up processing for CARLa queries using z/OS UNIX file data. If you are using zSecure 2.1.0 or 2.1.1 it is recommended you look at the service provided through APAR OA46606.
If you work with systems with lots of catalogs and data sets, you might also experience benefits from changes made in that area. For zSecure 2.1.0 install the fix for APAR OA46616. For zSecure 2.1.1 this change was largely incorporated into the base release. You can apply the fix for APAR OA46244 for some later tweaks.
You might also consider upgrading to 2.1.1 if you are currently at a lower level. New function released in the service stream is typically made available for the latest zSecure release only (unless compatibility considerations dictate otherwise). The zSecure for z/OS release numbers typically follow the z/OS release numbers. Modification release numbers like 2.1.1 are used when there is no new z/OS release at the time--note that 2.1.1 was made available a full year after 2.1.0 and is not a minor release. zSecure 2.1.1 runs on all z/OS releases currently in support.
