We are pleased to announce that upgrade from TWSz V8R5M0 or TWSz V8R5M1 to TWSz V9R2M0 has been fully tested and it runs
Until now the supported and suggested upgrade from 8.5.x to 9.2.0 was performed in two steps: one to 8.6.0 and another to 9.2.0.
The Apar PI34075 is available to remove the message EQQIC70W from the migration program at 9.2.0 level if FROMREL or TOREL parameters
are TWSV8R5M0 or TWSV8R5M1. The EQQIC70W message was just a warning message that was not stopping the upgrade procedure.
The Apar contains two doc changes:
1) it was removed the message EQQIC70W from the manual Tivoli Workload Scheduler for z/OS Message and Codes
2) from the manual Tivoli Workload Scheduler for z/OS Planning and Installation in Chapter 6. Migrating,
Section: "EQQICTOP VSAM data set conversion program"
it was removed the following description in the NOTE after the TOREL parameter:
"- For a migration to TWS for zOS 9.2.0 from a TWS for
zOS release earlier than 8.6.0 the message EQQIC70W is
issued. It warns that a direct upgrade is an unsupported
migration path, since it has not been extensively tested
The supported upgrade is based on two steps.
A two steps upgrade through TWS for zOS 910 is the
recommended upgrade way; the same for Fallback. From TWS
for zOS 8.5.x to either 8.6.0 or to 9.1.0 first and then
from 8.6.0 or 9.1.0 to 9.2.0. "
