Besides running OMEGAMON XE on z/OS, we’ve recently installed OMEGAMON XE for CICS on z/OS to monitor our CICS environment. We are looking for ways to keep our monitoring costs low, while still maintaining our high standard of responsiveness to our users. Would you have any ‘Best Practices for OMEGAMON XE for CICS on z/OS TEP Situations’ you could share with my team? Thanks for any suggestions.

Dear Hungry in Hawaii,
I’m glad your team found the recommendations provided in the ‘Best Practices for OMEGAMON XE on z/OS TEP Situations’ article helpful.
When setting up OMEGAMON XE for CICS on z/OS TEP Situations, consideration should be given to “which situations you run in what type of environment.” For example, some situations may not need to run in a test environment. Each customer should validate, and if required, adjust the thresholds specified for each situation based on their applicability to the environment and the configuration.
Many ‘Thanks” to Richard Burford, Glenn Crawford, Mick Harris, Reggie Hubbard and Yvonne Scott-Matute for their contributions to this article.
