OMEGAMON XE on z/VM and Linux Fix Pack 3 is now available for download from Fix Central. This Fix Pack contains the following enhancements:
- New workspaces that allow you to monitor CPU Pools in both z/VM 6.3 and z/VM 6.4.
CPU pooling provides the ability to define a limit on the amount of CPU resources
(in terms of real CP or IFL processors) that a group of z/VM guests are
allowed to consume in aggregate. One or more
virtual machines can be assigned to a CPU pool (a virtual
machine can be assigned to one CPU pool at a time) and have
their aggregate CPU consumption limited to the pool's capacity.
This support allows you to cap CPU utilization for sets of
guests to better balance overall resource usage, for example to
limit CPU charges based on what a set of guests is allowed to use.
- Certification for support of ITM 6.3 FP7
- Enhanced support for LPARs and Processors. You may now use OMEGAMON to monitor the Type Capping, Multithreading Depth and Group Capping for LPARs and processors.
- Certification for Ubuntu Server 16.04 LTS. You may now run your OMEGAMON XE on z/VM and Linux agent on an Ubuntu server.
