The z/OS syslog – the main source of information for every operator as soon as problems occur on the mainframe & the main source for monitoring and automating resources on the mainframe for System Automation.
But detailed information for specific problems can only be found in the job logs of the corresponding jobs or started tasks, which are not included in the z/OS syslog. With System Automation it is possible to monitor these logs and write important messages to the syslog. This process is called Job Log Monitoring and enables System Automation to monitor and automate the resources more precisely.
Setting Up Job Log Monitoring can be a “little bit confusing” ;) – for this purpose I would like to point to our new wiki entry: http
It describes the setup of Job Log Monitoring for the E/AS Confirmed Message Adapter.
