IBM® Common Data Provider for z Systems® provides the infrastructure for accessing IT operational data from z/OS® systems and streaming it to the analytics platform of your choice in a consumable format.
Before the data can be streamed to the analytics platform, you must create a policy which includes the information about the data source you want to collect, the format to which you want the data to transform, and the settings of subscribers that receive the data.
The Common Data Provider for z Systems® content design team has created a type of “interactive” video which can lead you through the various options in the policy creation process. In this video, you can click buttons and provide values to text fields as if you are in an actual Common Data Provider Configuration Tool environment.
Because different data source types and subscribers require different options in the policy, we created two videos: one for streaming SMF data, and one for streaming log data. The videos are embedded here in this blog. However, if you want to view it in full screen, you must open the video URL in a new browser tab and maximize the browser window.
