This is John Arnesen with NetView and System Automation level 2 support. Even though I don't support GDPS, it does sit on top of NetView/SA and I received the following information today. You may find it useful if you are also running GDPS/PPRC.
This newsletter is being sent to highlight two GDPS V3R9 PTFs in error, which can result in HyperSwap integrity problems with symptoms that include unwarranted system resets and/or lost updates during swap processing.

Join us for a complimentary webcast as we discuss how using Tivoli ® OMEGAMON XE to improve zEnterprise ® monitoring—interfaced with System Automation for z/OS ® —can minimize the time it takes to find and fix problems. Proactive automation enables correlation of problems across applications and drives automated problem resolution without manual overhead.
This webcast will give examples of zEnterprise situations where having OMEGAMON ® and System Automation working together can proactively resolve problems.... [More]

Many 3270 emulators support an option to associate a mouse click with the Enter key.
You might prefer to associate a mouse click with the Enter key in your 3270 emulator session. After you make this association, in contexts where you normally “click and enter”, you can instead “double click.”
Locate point and select or mouse click configuration options for your emulator. For example, in an IBM Personal Communications emulator window, select Edit > Preferences > Hotspots .
If you see in your e3270ui the Sysplex overview panels in the E3270UI show no data and it gives a use ZOSLPARS to get a list of LPARs and to be able to see LPAR level information then this technote may apply to you. Also in the TEP if the Sysplex level is grayed out in the navigator tree then it also may apply.
If this problem occurs in your IMS V420 environment, here's the fix you need to implement:
Determine which IMS XE agent is supplying the IMSplex level data.
Apply UA52405, if necessary.
Check for problems in the identified IMS XE agent OR
C heck for communication errors between the identified IMS XE agent and the Hub, and or Remote, Tivoli Enterprise Monitoring Server.
For more information about the cause of this problem, see this Technical Note .

After June 9th, you will see a warning message about an expired certificate. You can accept the certificate as "Always" to eliminate the warning message or you can resolve this issue by applying maintenance which will include new Java certificates. Depending on what products you have installed, you will need to apply maintenance for the following ITM and OMEGAMON products to get the updated certificates:
ITM V6.2.3 Fixpack 3 or higher (should be done first)
OMEGAMON XE for CICS V5.1.0, V4.2.0
OMEGAMON XE for CICS... [More]

Running the KCIJPLOD load job is part of most maintenance scenarios. For sharing-with-base RTEs, this job loads both the RTE-unique libraries and the common shared base libraries by default.
If the RTE_LOAD_SHARED_LIBS parameter is set to Y (the default) in the profiles for all the RTEs that share the same base libraries, then the KCIJPLOD job for each RTE loads the base libraries each time you run the KCIJPLOD job. Although it does not hurt the configuration to do so, running the job multiple times will perform multiple IEBCOPY steps to... [More]
If you experience a problem with an OMEGAMON XE for IMS on z/OS monitoring agent, you might not have to look far or do much to solve your problem. Often, all the resources that you need to determine the root cause of the problem – and the appropriate fix – are close at hand! The following workflow diagram helps you, through a series of questions, to figure things out.
Answer each question in the workflow in sequence. If you're directed to follow additional procedures along the way (in the side bar), all the... [More]
