The ITM service console is a utility to query and modify configuration information for an active Tivoli Monitoring process. You can use it to enable tracing for a TEMS, read logs, or query your configuration. Historically, the ITM service console was only accessible from a web browser, but now with the V730 release of the Enhanced 3270 User Interface you never have to leave the Enhanced 3270UI to access this important diagnostic tool.
How to get to it:

Automation is used to handle activities that do not require expert judgment or analysis – DUHH !!! So where and how do we automate on z/OS ? There are a couple of guidelines – automate as close to the source/destination as possible, automate at the appropriate scope (sub-system, system, sysplex, enterprise), and integrate automation – sub-system automation feeds/supports system/sysplex automation, system/sysplex automation feeds supports sysplex/enterprise automation. In addition there are application... [More]

OMEGAMON XE for Messaging v7.3.0 includes several Enhanced 3270 User Interface workspaces with embedded data from other OMEGAMON products, which allow direct access to additional data you need to monitor your MQ applications. It is important to understand that the embedded data feature also allows immediate viewing of z/OS address space data about your queue manager and channel initiator address spaces. Previously, you would have had to hunt through the address spaces listed for an LPAR to find the data you... [More]

You're looking for the latest doc for the version 5.3.0 releases. You went to the Information Center and you got redirected to something called IBM Knowledge Center. What's going on? And how do you find the documentation?
Well, obviously, the OMEGAMON XE product documentation and the Tivoli Management Services shared documentation has moved from the Information Center to the new IBM® Knowledge Center. Knowledge Center, or KC as it is commonly referred to, is IBM's new central location for product documentation.
The Second in a Series : OMEGAMON XE for DB2 Performance Expert on z/OS development plans to demonstrate, discuss, and solicit feedback on the next set of features and functions in development for the upcoming release. Mark your calendars for October 2, 2014 at 10:00AM Eastern where the development team will focus on:
Navigation improvements planned for the enhanced 3270 UI
Integration enhancements planned for the enhanced 3270 UI .
We look forward to seeing you there.
On z/OS data collected during the OMEGAMON history collection process is stored in the OMEGAMON Persistent Data Store (PDS). The PDS is a set of predefined flat files that are continually re-used. When the active PDS data set becomes full, the PDS data set containing the oldest data will be emptied and initialized for reuse.
The PDS maintenance process is an automated process which should not require intervention by the system administrator. However, there are a number of PDS related MVS modify commands which can be issued... [More]
Despite the obvious importance of checking the authority of the issuer of a NetView command to issue the command, there are times when such checking should be bypassed in order to optimize performance. One such example is when commands are invoked by NetView's automation table. Users can configure automation-invoked commands to be authority-checked or not. Another such example regards commands that are invoked by other commands. Of course, we can consider the combined case of a command "A" driven by... [More]
