Determining dependencies in Cúram data

Where you need to implement a feature to remove data from a Cúram application, for example to meet data retention requirements, your first step is to identify all of the data that might need to be removed to support the removal of a top-level row, such as Person. While you can do this manually, using database foreign keys and documentation to trace through all of the potential links, it takes time.
In this article, Paddy Fagan, Chief Architect, IBM Cúram Platform Group, introduces a tool to help you with identifying the required data. The provided tool navigates the foreign keys and some other metadata in the Cúram application database, including any local customization. The tool builds up a list of the tables where data can potentially need to be removed to support the removal of a top-level row. You can use this information as a starting point to develop the business logic to identify all the rows to be deleted when removing a top-level row.
