XL C/C++ for Linux on System z Managed Beta Announcement

We are pleased to announce the Managed Beta Program for IBM®XL C/C++ for Linux on System z. This Beta Program is separated into two stages, namely, features and compatibility, and, quality and performance.
Clients participating in the Managed Beta program will join developers and product management for education and discussions. Participants will evaluate code and have access to a private website. The beta website will include a tool for reporting problems and feature requests. There will also be a forum for questions and discussions and a beta library where participants can find recordings, documentation and presentations.
This program is now open for sponsors to submit nominations for their customers/partners - the nomination process is described below.

Nominations by Clients
Customers can access the on-line Nomination Form by using their IBM userid and password here :
1. Complete and submit the Nomination Form. We will be holding Nomination Review Board meetings weekly and selecting participants to fill slots in the program throughout the Nominations period. Please do not wait until the last minute to nominate your customer.
2. If your nomination is accepted, we will contact both you and your nominated customer contact to begin the registration process for the program.
IBM® XL C/C++ for Linux on System z is an advanced C/C++ compiler that is planned to be used to develop complex and computationally intensive programs on Linux on System z. IBM XL C/C++ for Linux on System z is expected to ease the application migration to Linux on System z through conformance to the latest C/C++ international programming standards and compatibility with GNU C/C++ and maximize application performance through industry leading optimization technology.
The focus of this beta program is:
1. Provide early access to new C/C++ compiler technology to enable Clients and Business Partners to evaluate this new technology and identify functional or compatibility issues.
2. Provide participants a sneak peak at application performance and System z exploitation features.

The Beta is planned for 10 Customers Worldwide. All nominated customers must agree to provide technical resources to participate in the Beta and commit to these Beta activities:
Education : An education component is planned for the Beta Program Kickoff session. It will provide an overview of the program and the XL C/C++ compiler.
Documentation : All documentation will be provided in electronic format
Meetings : Status calls will be organized to collect customer status and impart information about the Beta and the product. During the status calls there may also be demonstrations of the new functions of the product.
Technical Support : The Beta Problem Reporting Tool will be used to report problems.
Written Discussion : A Discussion Forum will be provided for participants to ask questions of the Development Team and discuss with other participants.
