The SuperComputing Conference has served as the crossroads for the entire HPC/Technical Computing community for 25 years. The conference connects with the latest developments through the diverse programs: technical programs, exhibit hall, and HPC
The IBM Compiler Team had two of its members in attendance:
Yaoqing Gao, Rational STSM in Static Compilation Technology and Master inventor
Michael Wong, OpenMP CEO, C++ Compiler Frontend Development, C++ Standards HoD, ISOCPP.org Director and VP
Yaoqing presented a XL C/C++ and Fortran compiler briefing to several clients. His talk gave an overview of major compiler enhancements in IBM C/C++, Fortran and OpenMP for POWER and Blue Gene/Q, and how to exploit those new features for performance and productivity.
Michael gave the keynote at the OpenMP BoF to unveil the release of OpenMP 4.0, and location of IWOMP 2014, as well as showcased the new clang support of OpenMP, and the new common Tools interface. He also gave a 30 minute OpenMP State of the Union address at the Exhibitor's forum to announce OpenMP's futures, as well as meeting many current customers and potential future members. He and his OpenMP staff ran the OpenMP show booth with many visitors inquiring about OpenMP which is used to support the current fastest Top-500 Supercomputer, the Tianhe 2. You can read more about Michael's activities at SC2013 in his blog post from earlier today.
