z/OS V1R13 XL C/C++ September 2012 PTF introduces support for the latest IBM zEnterprise® EC12 (zEC12) system, including new compiler suboptions and hardware built-in functions.
New compiler suboptions
ARCH(10) – With this option, the compiler produces code that can use instructions available on the zEC12 system. You can find details about the ARCH option in z/OS V1R13 XL C/C++ User's Guide.
TUNE(10) – With this option, the compiler produces code that is executable on all hardware models, but is optimized for the zEC12 system. You can find details about the TUNE option in z/OS V1R13 XL C/C++ User's Guide.
New hardware built-in functions
z/OS V1R13 XL C/C++ September 2012 PTF supports the transactional execution capabilities of the zEC12 system by the following hardware built-in functions:
You can find details about these hardware built-in functions in z/OS V1R13 XL C/C++ Programming Guide.
I recommend the z/OS V1R13 information center, which provides product documentation of all z/OS V1R13 elements. Hope you’ll find it useful.
