This presentation is all about how to actually become a social business. Changing from a social brand to a social business. It initially talks about the differences between the old model of social brand and the new model of social business but then it moves on to how to accomplish being a social business. It talks about how it has an 8 point framework for becoming the social business. The 8 points are Asses, Strategies, Create, Protect, Participate, Share, Engage, and Monitor. These 8 points are a stepping stone on the way to becoming a social business. But at the end it talks about the main things you must do following after you create your social business. The main thing is to advocate for yourself. Also a Social Business takes a lot of time and investment to run properly and it has to be owned by the entire company not just certain parts. And finally a social business main function is to create a better customer experience. I feel that GBS and DeveloperWorks are lacking in certain places on the 8 point framework and on the final ideas. GBS is really missing the asses, strategies, engage, and monitor parts of the framework. Also I feel that the entire company is not behind this initiative and so is lacking. Then DeveloperWorks is lacking in the protect and engage parts and also in the advocacy part. I feel that it is a relatively unknown internal collaboration site for IBM.
