Techdoc WP102754 introduces the "View Partition Resource Assignments" task that is new with IBM z14 family of processors.
The task provides a CPC snapshot of all active partitions and associated processor information. The information displayed for each partition includes the HiperDispatch setting and processor information (number, CPU type and polarity) displayed within the Node and Chip locations.
Previously, you could glean some of this information from various sources (like RMF Postprocessor CPU Activity report) but some of it was only available with support from IBM PE (including needing non-disruptive LPAR dumps sent in to IBM).
Now it’s available dynamically via the HMC or SE. Here is what it looks like from the View Partition Resource Assignments task on the SE:
Note this is a scroll-able task view, and depending on the size of your configuration, you may need to scroll down for larger CPU count systems, and scroll right for larger LPAR
count systems. Alternatively, you can export to HTML or CSV formats, to get an all-in-one-view picture of your CPC. Here a snapshot of the largest zPET z14 system M91:
Techdoc WP102754 explains exactly how to get into and use the panels so be sure to start there.
