This workshop is used to conduct a cost benefit analysis process (CBA) to show the hard savings of consolidating copies from disparate environments. Many DB2 z/OS customers have a smattering of Teradata, Oracle, SQL Server and LUW landing zone, data marts, and DW copies that are fed from DB2 z/OS. With this workshop, we will attempt to show the cost benefit of consolidating these disparate environments (or some subset of the workload) back to DB2 z/OS with IDAA. The CBA will take into account factors such as reduction in administration, reduction in ETL/replication processing, reduction in chargeback or infrastructure, reduction in fraud liability, etc.
The first phase of this workshop involves connecting with the application teams via our socialization documents. Connecting with the application teams is as important (if not more important) than connecting with DBA's/Infrastructure. While the latter groups may finance the purchase of the solution, the application teams will provide the need/value.
