We had a lively Q&A in the last Thursday's webinar so we plan to continue the discussion here. Geoff Rose
There is no capability today to create reports on user permissions in a project area. I would suggest searching to see if similar Jazz.net work items have been submitted for these specific reports or submit your own Jazz.net enhancement request for these reports.
There is no additional installation required for RRDG or out of the box BIRT reports. RPE is a separate desktop based client application that is installed separately from Jazz. RRDI is a separate inst
I wasn't exactly sure what this was really asking for. Jazz.net and the Jazz.net wikis contain information about using reports. There is also information in the CLM Information Center.
Consult the reporting section in the Jazz CLM Information Center. Note that the RRDI entries in the various "Report" menus do require additional configuration during a CLM installation.
All CLM tools support pulling default attributes as well as custom defined attributes in development intelligence and document reports.
You would use Rational Publishing Engine to customize the document reports that were shown.
You must define your definition of "live" reports. Realize that data warehouse based reports are only as up to date as the last time that ETL job occurred (typically nightly). Thus typically your development intelligence reporting data is only as up to date as the previous evening. In almost all customer cases, this is more than adequate to meet the reporting needs. Alternatively, RTC and RQM have querying capabilities where the data is "live" up to the last saved version of that artifact. Document based reports pull data directly from each individual point tool's repository, thus those reports are "live" up to the last saved version of the artifact.
BIRT is a free, open source tool. As such, IBM does not sponsor BIRT training. Also, IBM will not support customized BIRT reports (IBM will support the IBM provided BIRT reports as-is). IBM suggests that the customer uses RRDI and/or RRDG to satisfy your reporting needs. Consult 321 Gang for support with your customized BIRT based reports.
Yes. You would need the full Rational Insight solution to report against non-CLM products for Development Intelligence reports. You would need Rational Publishing Engine to report against non-CLM products for document reports.
