Find COBOL and ABO information with IBM Doc Buddy V2.2

IBM Doc Buddy V2.2 now lets you easily find all latest COBOL/ABO information at anytime anywhere. No matter you want to search the COBOL/ABO messages in an offline scenario or you want to find the latest COBOL/ABO information published in the IBM Knowledge Center, IBM Doc Buddy is your best choice!

To search for Enterprise COBOL for z/OS, V6.2 messages, simply take the following steps:

Online search (recommended) - to resolve problems immediately by searching error messages online:

    1. In IBM Doc Buddy, on the "Home" tab, simply enter the message ID such as "IGYxx".

    2. Find the message and solutions.

Offline search - search even without Internet connectivity by downloading components beforehand:

    1. In IBM Doc Buddy, click the "My account" icon on the bottom right, and then select "Components".

    2. Search for "COBOL". You can see that the COBOL V6.2 component is available.

    3. Click the download icon.

    4. After the download is complete, you can search the messages locally.

Note: Not all COBOL messages and their explanations are included in IBM Doc Buddy for now, and more messages will be added progressively. However, for most COBOL messages, there is no further detail other than what you see in the actual messages. This is because the messages are considered to be self-explanatory when used together with the Enterprise COBOL for z/OS Language Reference. If you think a message needs further explanation, send the message ID and reasons to compinfo@cn.ibm.com.
