A WCM customer wants some of the users to be able to 'Restart Workflow' on a 'Published' content. In WCM, a user needs to have Manager access on the "Content" resource type to be able to 'Restart Workflow'. Here, the customer doesn't want to give Manager access and he wants to know if there are any other options available. To override the Manager access for a user and to get the 'Restart Workflow' button, WCM provides a property "workflowrestart.requires.manager". In addition to this property, the user also needs to have editor access to the library and "Draft Creator" access in the content Workflow.
By default the property "workflowrestart.requires.manager" value is true. If a user doesn't want Manager access for Restart Workflow, this property can be turned OFF by following the below steps :
1. Open WebSphere Integrated Console.
2. Login as an administrator. Go to Resources -> Resource Environment -> Resource Environment Providers. Click on 'WCM WCMConfigService' in the right side window. Click on 'Custom properties'. Add/Edit the property:
default value : false
Click Apply, Done and Save directly to the master configuration. This is shown in the figure below.
3. Restart Portal Server for the changes to take effect.
