A while ago, there was a necessity to customize the way search works when importing user to JTS from LDAP or when assigning owners of work items in RTC.. !!!!???
My initial thought were.. Is this not related to LDAP configuration ????? Hmmm.. this may require an RFE ???? Why would any one need it???????
Let me take it one at a time.....
a. Is this not related to LDAP configuration ????? This is not related to LDAP.. but the configuration of LDAP in JTS
b. Why would any one need it??????? If you have multiple users with the same name or using Automation scripts ? how would you search ?
That's quite simple.... Mail IDs / User IDs..
Ok.. that's understandable.. Now...
c. How do I configure ?
From the JTS admin > Server > Advanced Properties > Search for ""
Change the "Find Users by Name Query" field to (| (cn=?1*) (mail=?1*) (uid=?1*))
For Microsoft AD
Change the "Find Users by Name Query" field to (| (cn=?1*) (mail=?1*) (sAMAccountName=?1*))
With this settings, you will be able to search users by Name / Mail ID / User ID.
